This is the hub for watching Grand Theft Auto VI as it goes live. Whether you want to catch the first gameplay the moment it drops, follow the biggest creators, chase Twitch Drops, or just understand where the action will be, this page maps it all out, Twitch first, with Kick and YouTube alongside. Before anything else, one ground rule: GTA 6 has not been released yet. We only call something confirmed when Rockstar Games or Twitch has stated it officially. Everything else is tagged as a leak or rumour and treated as unverified.
The countdown above is anchored to the only release date Rockstar has confirmed: 19 November 2026. When that clock hits zero it flips into a live "Watch Now" panel that points you straight at the GTA 6 category on each platform.
What is actually confirmed
A handful of facts are locked in because Rockstar or Twitch said so directly. We build everything else on top of these, and nothing more.
- Release date: 19 November 2026. Rockstar has officially confirmed this date for GTA 6. Confirmed
- Platforms: PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. These are the confirmed launch platforms. A PC version has not been dated. Confirmed
- Setting and protagonists. The game is set in the state of Leonida, centred on Vice City, and follows two protagonists, Jason and Lucia, shown in Rockstar's official trailers. Confirmed
- Pre-orders, prices and pre-load. Pre-orders opened on 25 June 2026. In the US the standard edition costs $79.99 and the Ultimate Edition $99.99, and digital buyers can pre-load from 12 November 2026 (Take-Two). Confirmed
- Two big videos since the summer. "An Extended Look" arrived on 27 August 2026 and the 90-second Launch Trailer on 15 October 2026, both captured on PS5. Confirmed
What about Twitch and Rockstar? In a 2025 interview with the German site MeinMMO, Twitch's chief monetization officer Mike Minton said Twitch teams were meeting Rockstar regularly and sharing data ahead of launch. That is Twitch describing its own preparations. Neither Rockstar nor Take-Two has announced a formal partnership, a co-streaming deal or Twitch-specific launch content, so we do not label it confirmed.

If a claim is not in the list above, assume we are not treating it as fact. That includes any specific GTA 6 Twitch Drops campaign, an official Rockstar launch stream, performance figures like 60fps or PS5 Pro modes, and any GTA 6 roleplay servers. People search for all of these, so we cover them, but always clearly labelled.
Looking back: the Extended Look, 27 August 2026
"Grand Theft Auto VI: An Extended Look" premiered on Netflix on Thursday 27 August 2026 at 3pm ET and reached Rockstar's YouTube channel and the official site six hours later. The roughly 27-minute film was the first long stretch of in-game footage, captured on PS5. Confirmed
It also turned into the biggest co-streaming night of 2026 so far. Streams Charts counted a peak of about 3.97 million concurrent viewers across 9,038 reaction streams, with Twitch carrying about 44% of hours watched, YouTube 34.8% and Kick 20.2% (Inven Global, 29 August 2026). Twitch users reported outages during the premiere. Our recap of that night on Twitch has the details.
Where to watch GTA 6
GTA viewing is split across three platforms, and GTA 6 will almost certainly follow the same pattern. Here is the short version, with a full guide behind each link.
- Twitch is the historic home of GTA, especially roleplay, and it carried the largest share of the Extended Look co-streams. It is also where Twitch Drops live, if Rockstar runs a campaign.
- Kick has pulled in several of the biggest GTA creators and is a serious second screen for GTA 6, with its own top streamers and language communities.
- YouTube is where Rockstar posts official trailers and reveals, and where a large slice of GTA gameplay and live coverage already sits.
The honest answer to "where should I watch?" is: follow the creators you like, on whatever platform they stream. Many broadcast to more than one. Our best GTA 6 streamers directory is organised by platform and language so you can find them fast.
Twitch Drops, what they are and how to be ready
Twitch Drops are in-game rewards you earn just by watching participating streams while your accounts are linked. Rockstar has run Drops for GTA Online before, so the mechanic is well understood, even though no GTA 6 specific Drops campaign has been announced. Leak / rumour (any GTA 6 Drops campaign is unconfirmed until Rockstar says so)
You do not need to wait to get set up. The checklist in the panel above walks through the documented steps, create and sign in to Twitch, link Twitch to your Rockstar Games account, confirm the connection, find a stream marked Drops Enabled, then watch and claim from your Drops Inventory. It saves your progress on your device only, no account required. Full detail lives on the Twitch Drops guide.
GTA roleplay: the biggest watch driver
If you have ever wondered why GTA dominates Twitch for weeks at a time, the answer is usually roleplay (RP). On servers in the NoPixel and FiveM mould, streamers play consistent characters in a shared city, and the drama pulls enormous audiences across English, Spanish and Portuguese communities. Creators like JLTomy, aminematue, sxb and RDjavi have built their channels on exactly this.
Whether and how RP arrives in GTA 6 depends on Rockstar releasing mod or server tooling, which has not been confirmed. Leak / rumour Our GTA 6 RP servers guide explains what roleplay is, how to watch it without joining, and what the community landscape looks like going in.

Launch day: what to expect
On 19 November 2026, expect a wall of GTA 6 streams as creators race to show first gameplay. As of 25 October 2026, Rockstar has not published an unlock time and has not announced an official launch broadcast. Store listings point to a midnight local-time release, region by region, but treat that as expected rather than confirmed. Leak / rumour Our launch-day viewing guide explains what that would mean across time zones. Our launch stream hub carries its own countdown and will track announcements as they land, and the stream schedule board collects who is going live and when.

For viewership, the launch is widely expected to be one of the biggest streaming moments ever, but every pre-launch number is a projection, not a fact. Leak / rumour We keep the viewer records page framed that way until real streams begin.

Why trust this hub
We are an independent fan resource, not Rockstar, Twitch or Amazon. That independence is exactly why we are careful. Our whole value is keeping confirmed facts and rumours apart so you are never misled about an unreleased game. We cite Rockstar and Twitch for everything we call confirmed, and we tag everything else. As real announcements land, especially through the 2026 marketing push and launch week, we update these guides to match. Start with the Twitch Drops guide, or read more about this project.

FAQ
Can you watch GTA 6 before it releases? You can watch official trailers and any footage Rockstar publishes, but full gameplay streams only begin once the game launches. The confirmed release date is 19 November 2026 on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S.
Is GTA 6 coming to Twitch? Yes, in the sense that it will be streamed there from launch day on 19 November 2026, and GTA has always been huge on Twitch. A Twitch executive has said Twitch is working with Rockstar ahead of launch, but neither company has announced a formal partnership or what it would include.
Will there be GTA 6 Twitch Drops? As of 25 October 2026, no GTA 6 Drops campaign has been announced. Rockstar has run Drops for GTA Online before, so the mechanic is familiar, but treat any GTA 6 Drops claim as unverified until Rockstar announces it. Our checklist gets you ready either way.
Where can I watch GTA 6 besides Twitch? Kick and YouTube both carry large GTA audiences and many of the same creators. Rockstar also posts official trailers and reveals on YouTube. See our Kick and YouTube guides for platform-specific tips.
What platforms is GTA 6 on? GTA 6 is confirmed for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S at launch. A PC version has not been dated by Rockstar.
